Praxis Financial Publishing LLC is an independent media organization that combines objective, critical journalism with actionable analysis.

We think economics is the center of everything and especially crucial to investing. Yet economics is often muddled in theory and assumptions that conflict with reality.

At the same time, financial journalists are often swept up in an echo chamber of views and narratives that reverberate across Wall Street and Washington.

Founded in 2023, we are one part journalism and another part analysis, one informing the other. We know that to outperform, investors have to see things early and differently—like we do. 

Praxis values original thinking, deep dives, and a wide array of perspectives. We bring you ideas and sources you won’t read in mainstream financial media.

Our name is inspired by the concept of “praxis,” conceived by the Greek philosopher Aristotle to describe practical reflection for the purpose of acting over theorizing. To bridge the gap between economic theory and reality–and between ivory towers and profitable investing–Praxis combines objective, critical journalism with independent analysis.  

About Lisa Beilfuss

Lisa Beilfuss is the founder of Praxis. After five years at The Wall Street Journal, she wrote about the U.S. economy for Barron’s magazine.

Her column at Barron’s challenged conventional wisdom, arguing early that inflation was an inevitable outcome of the pandemic response by global central banks and governments and warning that inflation wasn’t transitory and would require aggressive monetary-policy tightening.

Before entering journalism, Lisa worked as an analyst for more than a decade on various trading floors, including GETCO LLC.
